"With each painting I create, I learn and experience something new. I find the knowledge of this process compels me to explore not only my work, but myself. I am always searching for a special balance in my art that is fragile, yet strong, like the beauty of the world around me."

“Painting is a form of relaxation and meditation. When I am painting, I am
thinking of absolutely nothing else. My only thought is of line and colour
and the way I would like to express how I am feeling at that particular
moment. It is a way for me to take a break from everyday thought and be free
to make a mark in any way that pleases me. When I am in the moment of creating and the
image begins to emerge I feel complete, and my soul is satisfied.”

Related Work Experience
Words to Pictures - Pictures to Words
She co-instructed with author Al Hunter a "hands on" workshop for teachers. By integrating techniques in transparent water colours and poetry to form a new art form they were able to show teachers a way to help students to open their minds to a new way of creating. This very successful program was supported by the Ontario Arts Council.
Children's Art Camp (ages 9 -14)
Fort Frances Museum and Cultural Centre
The Art Camp, organized by Connie and two other area artists was designed to expose the participants to several different mediums of art. This program was very successful with both the students and their families.
Adult Water Colour Workshops
She has instructed several adult classes and was always impressed with the energy she received back from her students.
“The shapes and colours of the world never cease to inspire and amaze me.
There is so much to explore. I feel so very fortunate to be able to share my
experiences through the images I capture in paint. To create pictures is not
simply to leave a mark on paper or canvas, but to evoke a response from the
viewer, to have them put a part of themselves into the work, to connect and
create a truly personal experience.”
